At its recent annual meeting, the APNBA — the “Alliance of Portland Area Business Associations” — honored the Sellwood Westmoreland Business Alliance, or SWBA, as the top business association in the City of Portland for the past year.

Shown presenting the award is Jean Baker, who recently led the APNBA, and who continues to lead the Division-Clinton Business Association. Receiving it is Chris Solsby, who just was elected only its second President, with Executive Director Chuck Martin.

The SWBA formed when the Bybee Bridge was closed for reconstruction, and has survived and grown even though the bridge has long been back open. The organization recently honored Tom Brown, its founding President, at its own annual meeting in May in Westmoreland.
