Milwaukie bandit gets money, gets naked, gets stoned, gets arrested

The man, they say, was an experienced criminal, with multiple prior arrests recorded in Oregon, West Virginia, Alaska and California.

But, given how he behaved on the afternoon of Friday, July 14th, in Milwaukie, it’s hard to imagine him making a successful career of crime.

The man, later identified as 35-year-old Paul Edward Jarvis, allegedly entered the U.S. Bank at 15533 S.E. McLoughlin Boulevard in Milwaukie at 5:30 pm, and committed a strong-arm robbery of the bank. Officers from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office converged on the scene to try to find the robbery suspect.

At 5:55 pm a citizen called from the Edwards Center, at 3287 S.E. Risley Avenue, a short distance from the bank, to report a naked male subject in the rear yard of this complex. This subject was described to have “soiled himself”, and was holding money in his hands as he hopped over the fence, naked.

With the mention of the money, the officers assumed this to be the same guy who, minutes earlier, had robbed the U.S. Bank--although witnesses had described the man who robbed the bank as having been wearing clothing at the time of the holdup.

The search concentrated in an area cordoned off by Sheriff's Office personnel between S.E. Swain and East Avenue, just west of McLoughlin Boulevard, in Milwaukie.
