It wasn’t so much a contest, as an event to raise awareness of the work the organization does to help preserve and improve the quality of Johnson Creek — from Gresham to its confluence with the Willamette River.
This year’s top earner in the Springwater Cycle Stroll was JCWC’s own Vice Board Chair, Jason Howard. “I met my goal of riding 100 miles during the event. And, I was able to raise about $400 to help forward our efforts.”
In total, Clark said, twelve participants raised over $3,400 to support the Council’s restoration, education, and outreach programs. “A total of 85 donors supported participants who traveled a total of 336 miles. We’re already planning next year’s Springwater Cycle Stroll; this will become an annual event.”
