Woodstock cleanup today
A Holiday litter cleanup will take place today. Those wanting to help will meet at the Woodstock Community Center, 5905 S.E. 43rd Avenue just west of BiMart, at 9:30 a.m. Weather permitting, it will go until noon – or whenever bags are full. Equipment is provided by “Adopt One Block”, and trash removal is provided by 1-800-Got-Junk. This is a great opportunity to meet neighbors, and pitch in and do your part for the amazing Woodstock neighborhood.
Sellwood ballet students present downtown shows
Classical Ballet Academy in Sellwood returns to Lincoln Hall at Portland State University, 1620 S.W. Park Avenue, today and tomorrow for four performances of “The Nutcracker” – suitable for all ages. At 4 p.m., the Family Celebration centers on Carols and Stories. Then, at 8 p.m., The Candlelight Celebration includes the choir, instrumentalists, and communion. Both are open to all. The Church is situated at S.E. 18th and Bybee Boulevard.

“Inprovisational comedy” classes for ages 6-9 start today
Rogue Pack Theatre Collective, based at Sellwood Community House at S.E. Spokane at 15th in Sellwood, presents an Improvisational Comedy class series for ages 6-9, instructed by Raz Mostaghimi, starting today and running through February 20th, Mondays, 4:30-6 p.m. Kids learn to play together as a team, create comedy as a cast, and discover how much fun the theater can be! Through a series of short form “improve” games, they'll grow together and laugh together in the process. Participants will perform their own Improv show at the culmination of the course! “Acting for the Camera” classes for teens
Rogue Pack Theatre Collective, based at Sellwood Community House at S.E. Spokane at 15th in Sellwood, presents an Acting for the Camera class for ages 9 to 14, instructed Randy Schulman, on Thursdays from 5 to 6:30 p.m. starting today, and ending March 2nd. Both aspiring and seasoned actors are welcome, along with those who are interested in taking an acting class for the first time.
